This is a video about a whirlpool, so have you ever wondered what causes whirlpools?
A whirlpool is formed by opposing currents or a current running into an obstacle. For smaller whirlpools, wind is the primary cause. For larger whirlpools, known as maelstroms, they can appear in the sea and are mainly caused by tides. Large whirlpools are very dangerous to approach, as they can pull everything around them down to the bottom. You can also create a small water vortex in a cup by stirring the water.
