"Shevchenko" Park (full name Central Park of Culture and Recreation named after Taras Grigoryevich Shevchenko) is a park in Odessa. In the middle of the park is the Chornomorets Stadium ⚽️
This football stadium was built in 2011 in Odesa, Ukraine. The stadium has a capacity of 34,164 and is the home base for FC Chornomorets Odesa. The first match between FC Chornomorets (Odesa) and FC Karpaty (Lviv) took place on November 19, 2011 and ended in a 2:2 draw. Vitaliy Balashov scored the first goal in the 46th minute from the penalty spot.

The stadium was built on the site of the old Soviet multifunctional Central Stadium of the Black Sea Shipping (CMP), which was demolished in 2009.

The venue was considered one of the UEFA Euro 2012 stadiums, but was not nominated as such.

Near the Chernomorets stadium is a mound (remains of fortifications) with the Alexander Column. Balloons and airplanes were launched from this place, one of the first in the Russian Empire, and the famous Sergey Utochkin made several flights.

A monument to Taras Shevchenko was erected in the park (from the side of Marazlievskaya Street, at its intersection with Sabansky lane), there is an "Avenue of Glory" with the graves of the participants in the defense of the city, underground workers and liberators of the city during the Great Patriotic War and a monument to the Unknown Sailor with eternal flame, as well as obelisk to Afghan soldiers.
