The most common mistake made when selecting and purchasing hose clamps is the buyer will select a clamp with the same internal diameter as the hose, not taking into account the outer wall-thickness of the hose.
Therefore, we recommend that when selecting your hose clamps, you should first measure the outer diameter of the hose, also allowing for the expansion of the hose once it has been pushed onto a spout or connection. In this example, we grabbed a 28mm Samco Sport Straight Coupling Hose and a 28mm Samco Sport Alloy Joiner.
With the hose pushed onto the joiner, the outer diameter has increased, so we need to accommodate this when choosing the correct sized hose clamp. The final step is to tighten the hose clamp to the desired torque value with a flexidriver.
