John the Baptist is the Morning Star, the Dawn, characterized by the fact that it is visible the longest in the morning, before sunrise, when the stars become invisible due to sunlight. Just as the morning star was the herald of the coming day and the sunrise, the same John the Baptist was the herald of the coming Messiah as the Lamb of God who is true light.

This verse was quoted by John the Baptist when they asked him who you are. John chapter one verses twenty-two and twenty-three. Then they said, "Who are you?
