In this video, I will describe the importance of sulphur fertilizer or sulphur nutrient for crop plants. Sulphur application method and timing especially in wheat crop will also be discussed.
Sulphur is an essential element for growth and development of plants. its importance is after nitrogen, potash and phosphorus. we can say it is the fourth important nutrient for crop plants. Following are some cases where sulphur application gives excellent results;
1) Hard clayey soils
2) Sandy soils
3) Salts affected soils
4) Sodic soils
5) High pH soils
Sulphur also acts as a fungicide so if you want to prevent fungal diseases in crop roots, you should apply sulphur.
Sulphur bentonite 90% is good for soil application at the time of crops sowing.
Sulphur in df formulation or wp, wdg etc types are good for fertigation.
