The large mammals at Berlin's Tierpark Zoo, in Germany, were photographed and filmed munching on the Christmas trees fed to them by keepers. The New Year feeding of unsold pine trees has become an annual event at the zoo and even helps the elephants with cleaning their teeth. The trees contain a sweet resin high in vitamins and nutrients, while the needles present no problem for the elephants.
