Automated Pail Depalletizing

Sometimes, it’s all about finding innovative solutions that will allow you to improve the efficiency of your production line, but also improve your team’s day-to-day workload.

Known fact: Manual tasks in manufacturing are often tedious and physically stressful. However, it is also known that a fair amount of imagination and innovation may be required to automate some parts of a manual process.

FANUC's Authorized System Integrator Premier Tech was faced with this challenge when a customer approached them with a need to automate their pail depalletizing operations. In addition to increasing depalletizing efficiency, the new system needed to prevent very unstable piles from tipping over onto the conveyor. The customer also wanted empty pails to all face the same direction on the conveyor, regardless of their initial position on the pallet.

Using a six-axis FANUC robot, Premier Tech created a versatile, reliable solution that fulfilled all of their customer's requirements, bringing a whole new dimension to their packaging line and working conditions.
