In this video we take a look at the SK X-Frame Ratcheting Wrench Set. We cover why we bought the wrenches, what we paid, some of the design highlights, and offer up a comparison to standard Craftsman wrenches and our relatively new Capri Ratcheting Wrenches.
These are honestly some of the nicest tools I have ever bought. The initial impressions are off the charts. Time will tell how they hold up, but these are really, really nice.
My biggest knock on these, after very limited use, is that there aren't smaller and bigger sizes available. If I were able to get 7/8" and 15/16" wrenches I'd order in a set for work. I've watched these for a LONG time and waited for the price to come down. At the usual $275 for the set it is a little out of my price range. Paying $140, roughly $20 per ratcheting wrench, seems fair. The slightly higher price over some bargain entry point wrenches makes it a no brainer once you've had these in-hand.
Let me know your thoughts on these wrenches. Have you used them? If so, how long? Any issues? How to they compare to other ratcheting wrenches you have used over the years.
I'm also aware SK claims these are available in other sizes, but I have yet to actually find them. Hopefully it is something they add in the future.
