I thought that being pushed to have sex was my fault because I got drunk and was “asking for it”. I battled with blaming myself for years and I still do.

If you are ever pressured into having sex or preforming a sex act without your consent or clear consent, it is not your fault. It is never the victim’s fault. I blamed myself because I believed my actions were the reason I was forced to have sex when I didn’t want to. I couldn’t give consent because I was too drunk to do so.
