The latest to weigh in on the proposed law is a section of the clergy in Embu County who have called it punitive and offensive to the freedom of worship.If enacted, churches will be compelled to pay taxes on income, gifts, or profits generated from lawful activities. The bill also bars religious teachings to a child without the consent of their parent or guardian.
