A Torquay urban masterplan design by Julien Ahching, Nicholas Lane and Johnathhan Terlato.
Torquay is to become a much more cohesive and less fractured city, allowing the community to better engage within its urban fabric. Large urban interventions between now and 2100 will aim to foster a greater sense of community and ultimately to give Torquay an identity it can be proud of.
Community driven urban agricultural hubs will become the life blood of Torquay providing the locals with the ability to grow and harvest their own produce and to sell any surplus they might have in agricultural markets, pushing Torquay to become a bio-regional city. The proceeds of which, will go back into the community to help fund infrastructure projects and public entertainment. Taylor Park will become the crown jewel of Torquay, acting as a hub of entertainment, enjoyment and relaxation, allowing people to freely engage with and use the space.
