In honor of National Cancer Survivors Day, we reflect on the day Michelle Brubaker rang the bell in Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health. It signified she had completed chemotherapy treatments. Months later, Michelle transitioned from patient to survivorship and beyond.
“I looked at that bell after each round of chemo. It gave me the strength to get through my 10 sessions," Michelle said today looking back at the experience. "I had a lot of mixed emotions when I was finally able to ring it. That bell had deep meaning. It was a huge chapter closed and the beginning of a new beautiful one.”
