Who are we?
Musician Jacopo Gianninoto from Italy ([ Ссылка ]) with Performers Nana Dakin (USA/Thailand) and Sasapin Siriwanij (Thailand) from B-Floor Theater ([ Ссылка ]), a Bangkok-based physical theater troupe.
What are we doing?
- Expressing multiple meanings through movement, music and multimedia created from an artistic encounter between live music on a Renaissance Lute, physical theater, and philosophy.
- Live performances in Bangkok, Thailand (March 26 at The British Club, and more to come) and during the theater festival organized in July by Bel Teatro in Padua, Italy (July 25th).
Why are we doing this?
Because Giordano Bruno's search for truth and the violent suppression of his ideas, reminds us that knowledge is powerful. By reflecting on his story and history, we find ourselves thinking about the challenges of freethinking, the interconnected nature of all phenomena, symbolic language and the power of myths, in a world of apples and knowledge and all the Adams and Eves...
But mostly, we're talking about Giordano Bruno because he talks about us, about our existence, about you and me.
Why should you help?
- You will be supporting a cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary initiative by artists of different backgrounds, languages and nationalities.
- You will be supporting art that asks you to ask questions.
- You will be supporting the remembrance of Giordano Bruno and his visions.
How are we going to use the money we get?
Approximately 70% of the funds raised will cover the airfare from Bangkok to Italy. The remaining sum will be used for daily expenses (food, transportation etc.)
Notes on the Music
The music will be performed live on the renaissance lute, from the repertoire of G.M. da Crema, Francesco da Milano, S. Molinaro, G.C. Barbetta, J.B. Besard, J. Dowland and other composers of that period with some added improvisations.
"I can imagine an infinite number of worlds like the Earth, with a Garden of Eden on each one. In all these Gardens of Eden, half the Adams and Eves will not eat the fruit of knowledge, and half will. But half of infinity is infinity, so an infinite number of worlds will fall from grace and there will be an infinite number of crucifixions." - Giordano Bruno (1548 - 1600)
