On January 30th of 2023, a new distinct eruption of the Lascar volcano began, as a lava dome began growing in a summit crater of this more than 18,000 foot tall volcano. This poses a concern as odds are this lava dome will eventually be destroyed in an explosive eruption. While this eventual explosive eruption could occur rather soon, it could also occur many weeks or months from now. This video will discuss the ongoing situation at the Lascar voclano in Chile and what might happen next.
