Despite international efforts to combat corruption, it continues to affect all countries and to infiltrate all business sectors. Corruption remains one of the biggest challenges facing international commerce and how corruption allegations are dealt with in international commercial and investment arbitration is of particular significance. This year’s survey canvased views on the risks that corruption can pose for arbitration and the integrity of the arbitration process and whether change is needed to avoid arbitration becoming a safe harbor for corruption.
We hope that our survey report provides a useful contribution to this important debate for current and future generations of arbitration practitioners.
