Pongal Recipe

This video shows to cook both Sweet pongal and Ven Pongal at same time.

So you can save time and make your vessels cleaning work quickly

Ingredients

Raw rice -1 ,1/2 cup

Dry roasted moong dhal - 1/2 cup

Wash and soak all together for 20 minutes. Cook in 6 cups of water for 2 whisle.

For sweet pongal

Jaggery - 3/4 cup

Ghee - 5 tsp

Cashew nut and dry grapes

Cardamom and dry ginger powder - 1/4 tsp ,each

Mix well cooked rice, and take out 1/4 the quantity .Add 3 tbs of water in jaggery ,and boil it until it gets melts.Dilute it to rice, add some more water and mix well.

Allow it to boil for 2 minutes, in low flame.Add cardamon powder and dry ginger powder

Fry cashew nut and dry grapes,add it to pongal.

For Ven Pongal

Turmeric powder - 1/8 tsp

Salt, asafotida ,ginger, curry leaves

Pepper ,jeera - 1 tsp each

Oil -4 tsp

Ghee - 4 tsp

Milk - 1 cup

Cashew nuts

In 3/4 quantity of cooked rice, add salt, turmeric powder,milk and cook for 3 minutes in low flame.

In oil fry pepper,jeera, asafotida, ginger, curry leaves and add it to pongal

In ghee fry cashew nuts and add to pongal
