As per the most recent updates from Times Now, former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday, September 19, met BJP chief JP Nadda in Delhi. Singh plans to merge the Punjab Lok Congress, which he founded after he left the Congress Party last year, with his own party. Six former Congress leaders, including former MLAs, are expected to join the BJP along with Amarinder Singh.
As per the reports, Amrinder Singh will formally join the BJP. Reports say that this evening at 4:30 pm, he will merge his Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP may also give the Captain a key position as state governor.
