Today we are chatting about eating disorders and some of the experiences I had while healing my relationship with food, e.g. some of the things I wish I knew during my own recovery journey. This topic may be sensitive for some, but my hope is that if you're in your recovery journey, or even just building back trust in your body and relationship with food - that these tips with benefit you moving forward. I want you to be able to avoid some of the mistakes I made, even after I was "recovered".
I've come a long way since these challenges in high school, and I was able to turn my journey into something beautiful - a career as a Dietitian Nutritionist! But.. looking back with the expertise I have today, there were some things I wish I could have told my younger self, from: reactive hypoglycemia to uncontrollable cravings, unbalanced hormones and having patience with the process of re-building trust with food... there's a lot I think you should know.
Heads up: The intro is long but I think it's worth hearing before these tips! Time stamps will be listed below 💙
