This is a Long hydraulic elevator. I'm pretty sure Long elevators don't normally have nudge mode, but this one does. *And there's no warning.* Nudge mode was added to this elevator at some point, but I don't know when. I'm not sure if a buzzer was added when nudge mode was added, but if there was, it must've broke or it was removed or disabled. This elevator also used to have bumpers on the doors, but now has sensors. I'm assuming that nudge mode was added when the sensors were added.
Did getting squashed by the door hurt? *No. Not at all.* All elevators are required by code to be under 30 pounds of closing force, for obvious safety reasons, so it shouldn't hurt as long as you get squashed by the door correctly. (Like how I did in this video.)
*BEFORE YOU COMMENT:*
Due to most comments on this video, I have been obligated to add this to this description.
Most elevators have something called "nudge mode". Nudge mode occurs when elevator doors are held open for a certain amount of time, therefore a continuous buzzer/beeper and/or voice announcement will be heard, telling you to remove any obstruction from the doors so they can close. Some elevators will ignore the door sensors and force the doors closed, whether something is in the way or not, and a buzzer/beeper and/or voice announcement will be heard until the doors fully closed, while some elevators will just continuously buzz or beep until the obstruction is removed from the doors and the doors are fully closed. If the sensors are ignored and the doors are forced closed, some elevator doors will close slowly, while others will close at their normal speed. Some elevators don't even have nudge mode, so you can hold the doors open for as long as you want.
Elevator doors are required by code to be under 30 pounds of closing force, for obvious safety reasons. Elevator doors are also nowhere NEAR strong enough to kill people and don't have blades and/or sharp edges, otherwise, they wouldn't be in operation. Most newer elevators nowadays won't even allow people to get squashed by the doors. (Again, for obvious safety reasons.)
