Today on our equipment trailer, we're going to be installing the Optronics Sealed 2-1/2 inch Round LED Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Light with 7 Diodes in the red color, part number MCL58RB. We're going to begin here by first showing you what the incandescent light is currently installed on this trailer looks like. We will be switching over to the new Optronics LED Light, and once the installation is complete we'll then show you what that looks like, so you can see a comparison between the two. Let's go ahead and turn on our running light circuit, so you can see what our trailer currently looks like with the incandescent style light installed. As you can see here today, our trailer already has the 2-1/2 inch round style light installed in it. If for some reason your trailer did not have these lights already installed or you we're adding to a different style, there we're a couple other items that you would need to install your new Optronics Light. The first thing is the 2-1/2 inch Round Flush Mount Grommet with an Open Back, that's part number A55GB.
Additionally, you would need the wiring plug which is a Two Wire Pigtail for Sealed Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Lights, that's part number A46PB. Now on today's trailer, we're going to be reusing the grommet and the pigtail or the wiring connection point. Now here's what our new Optronics Side Market Light looks like, you see it's very similar but yet you'll see once we install it just how much brighter this light is. You also don't have to worry about the LED diode burning out as an incandescent bulb can. We need to first remove the existing light here, entirely just a simple flat-head screwdriver along the edge and work it up from the grommet. Here, it's got a lot of dirt in it, so it's a little harder to get out.
Once you pull the light forward, see here we have a two wire connection, simply pull that loose by gently rocking back and forth. Go ahead and set this light aside. It's a good idea while you have the light out to go ahead and clean out the grommet. It's easier to do that by just simply removing it and wiping it out to get any dirt and debris that may have accumulated in it over time. Now with our grommet cleaned out, we can go ahead and reinstall that, simply pushes down into place. It's also a good idea to go ahead and wipe off the connection point here if you're reusing the existing wiring harness or pigtail.
Go ahead and peel the covering off the back side of our new light. You will notice that there's a little bit of dielectric grease that's already been installed in the connection points. This will help to prevent the connection points from corroding up over time. We can go ahead and connect our new light to the pigtail. Now with our connection point in place, go ahead and slide the new light back into the grommet. With our new light reinstalled in the grommet, let's go ahead and turn it on and show you how much brighter it is over the incandescent style light.
You'll notice that you can see 7 diodes in the new light, and that gives off much more light than your standard incandescent style bulb. It also doesn't burn out over time, giving you a much longer service life over the old style. Now with that, that will conclude our installation of the Optronics Sealed 2-1/2 Inch Round LED Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Light with 7 Diodes and in the red color, part number MCL58RB, has installed here on our equipment trailer. .
