#Century21 appealed to me at first because it was one of the big names that people were already familiar with and a name people trusted. The specific brokerage I signed up with offered access to a lot of #pre-construction projects, and these were properties I wanted to sell. The downfall I experienced was that 95% of the agents were Asian and they would always host our meetings in Chinese. I no longer felt welcome or that I belonged there.

I met another agent from a different office who saw the potential in me and wanted to help me build my business. When I shared this with my broker, he was not willing to release me. I had to stay under his firm so that he could profit off of any business I did. I didn't agree with that, so I decided to leave.
🏆I had been hearing a lot about a cloud based brokerage, #eXpRealty and someone I knew from university was signed up with them. I joined as a team with this person and later ended up regretting it. I was not treated as an agent as everyone else was, I was told that I needed to change my voice, I was even told that I needed to negotiate my commission if I wanted any help or advice. The company isn't a bad place to be, and they have grown a substantial amount since I was there. However, the people you work with really play a huge role in your success or failure.
🟨Today, I am at Engel and Völkers. The people there are so warm and refreshing. They are always more than willing to help and want us all to succeed. If realtors care about the reputation of our profession (and most of us do) we’ll take care to treat one another ‘professionally’ thereby lifting each other up, instead of pulling one another down. When each of us acts with knowledge, diligence, and respect, our profession, as a whole, gains credibility.
