The Bears were blown out in this game but Caleb Williams was magnificent. Kap thought this was one of Caleb's best games this season. He threw for over 300 yards and passed the 3,000 yard mark for the season. And once again he did not throw an interception. The rest of the team was not nearly as good.
Rome Odunze lost two fumbles early in the game. The first time he was accepting a handoff from Caleb and muffed it. The second time he had a nice catch and run but then lost the ball as he was being tackled. He did end up with 77 yards on the day.
The Bears lost Braxton Jones with a severe leg injury and Teven Jenkins left the game, so the offensive line continues to be a mess.
And the defense just wasn't good at all. Kap said he saw players making business decisions all day. Kap also wonders where DJ Moore's head is at. He got a big deal at the beginning of the season but Kap felt he looks like he just doesn't want to be out there. He looked like he quit on a deep ball from Caleb and occasionally just looks like he's not fully engaged.
A report came out today that Ben Johnson is intrigued with the Bears head coaching vacancy. Kap thinks this job is indeed going to be a coveted job for no other reason than Caleb Williams. That kid looks great despite a completely chaotic first season in the NFL. He's survived coaching changes, play-caller changes, a bad offensive line, and receivers dropping balls all over the place. If a good coach can get their hands on him, you would think the sky would be the limit for him.
