Boosting trade, rekindling relations and strengthening partnerships will top the agenda during president Cyril Ramaposa's state visit to the United Kingdom this coming week. President Ramaphosa is the fourth president of a democratic South Africa to undertake a state visit to the UK after being invited by the newly crowned King Charles III. He is also the first foreign leader to be invited to Buckingham Palace after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. The last state visit to the UK was by then-US president Donald Trump.
Political Economist Professor Patrick Bond is with us in the studio to talk more about this visit.
