In the shadow of another mass shooting in America and pressure to stop the scourge of violence, the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday passed some of the most sweeping gun-control measures considered by Congress in decades.
The "Protecting Our Kids Act," a package of six bills that would reform guns laws across the country, passed 25-19 along party lines.
It was a vote that came after 10 hours of heated. sometimes personal debate, which included Congressman Greg Steube, R-Fla., showing his collection of handguns during a Zoom call.
The package of gun-control legislation is expected to pass the full House next week but then hit a roadblock in the Senate, where it's not expected to have the 10 Republican votes needed to survive a filibuster. [ Ссылка ]
