The 2025 Palisade is Hyundai's biggest SUV, making it suited for anyone seeking more space than Hyundai's Tucson or Santa Fe SUVs. The three-row Palisade seats up to eight passengers and is offered in seven trim options at varying price ranges. Budget-conscious buyers will enjoy the Palisade's cheap starting price (one of the lowest in its class), but those with bigger budgets will be delighted by the top trim levels, which match luxury-branded SUVs in poshness. Since its introduction in 2020, the Palisade has been one of our favourites among three-row midsize SUVs.
The Hyundai Palisade blurs the distinction between near-luxury and luxury with a well-appointed and comfortable cabin for all occupants. Though a couple of the controls on the centre stack are a little out of reach, everything is well-organised and easy to comprehend.
The Palisade comes standard with a slew of modern driver assistance systems, the majority of which perform well. In our tests, the Palisade's adaptive cruise control system worked well in traffic, and the steering assistance system did an excellent job of keeping the car in its lane.
What the Palisade lacks in overall performance, it more than compensates for with a strong and well-rounded skill set. Accelerating from a stop to 60 mph takes 7.6 seconds, which is typical for a three-row SUV. High-speed passing may be done confidently. In our emergency braking testing, the Palisade exhibited firm and predictable braking. In more typical driving, the brake pedal is simple to operate for smooth stops.
Handling and steering are less impressive, but the large Hyundai rarely seems sloppy or out of place as you drive through curves. The Palisade is a stress-free companion for both city and highway travel, thanks in part to its smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Three-row SUVs aren't typically used to transport six or seven people, so there's something to be said for having some alone time. The Palisade delivers – there's little road and wind noise, and the climate control system is quiet but effective.
The front seats provide a good balance of support for cornering and comfort for extended drives. Almost everyone should like them. The optional second-row captain's chairs are equally nice and more comfortable than certain front seats in comparable vehicles. Even the third row is decent, with a well-contoured seat cushion.
