In this lesson we'll introduce and discuss the flow control valve. We examine the schematic, the internal structure, the operational characteristics, and purpose of several different configurations of flow control valves including fixed, variable, variable with check valve bypass, non pressure compensated vs. pressure compensated, and temperature compensated. This is essential material for later discussions about flow control methods.
