Should you drive in Israel? That all depends on your driving aggressiveness, confidence, and your need to get from major city to major city. If you are not timid and you can go for it do it. If you are in town then maybe not. The roads are very narrow and it's a different driving culture than America. If you need to get from major city to me major city then absolutely get a car. The tours can get ridiculously expensive and you're locked into the slow-moving groups. Get there early before the groups arrive and get out of Dodge. It's easy to find the locations when you see the tour buses you know you're in the right spot. We felt like we had been given our freedom back. The Ubers are extremely expensive. You can spend in one ride what you would for the entire day for a car. Just make sure you get unlimited miles!
