Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister designate Mohan Yadav met with the Governor of the state Mangubhai Patel at his residence on December 11 and staked the claim to form the government.
Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Narendra Singh Tomar along with several other leaders were present at the occasion. Along with Mohan Yadav, Jagdisgh Devda and Rajesh Shukla were chosen to serve as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. Mohan Yadav served as Cabinet Minister in the Madhya Pradesh Government headed by Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He became MLA for the first time in 2013 from Ujjain Dakshin's seat.
