🕺 The circle dance (kolo) is usually performed amongst groups of at least three people and up to several dozen people. Dancers hold each other's hands or each other's waists. They form a circle, a single chain or multiple parallel lines. Some dances require both men and women to dance together, others require only men or only women.
The most important stylistic characteristic is „drmeš“ (shaking), which is why dances are called „drmeš“. It is dancing with distinctly vertical vibrations.
A large number of dances are performed with a song or alternately with a song and a concert accompaniment. The verses of the songs and popcorn spoke about various topics like mothers-in-law, bosses, rural occasions and troubles, and priests. People of different age groups gathered near the car to get information about the news in the village, the state or the world.
