(1 Oct 2014) The chief of the United Nations Mission in Liberia said on Monday that the international community is not doing enough to combat the deadly Ebola outbreak in the country.
"Ebola needs to be tackled here or it will be on everyone else's doorstep; and the Texas case shows us this," UN Special Representative Karin Landgren said, referring to the first case of Ebola diagnosed within the United States.
Liberia has been worst hit of the countries currently affected by the Ebola haemmorhagic fever outbreak.
Landgren said there have been at least 3664 reported cases in the country, including 1983 deaths.
