Satyaraj is a womaniser whose only two needs in life are wine and women. The latest woman to catch his roving eye is Devayani, a simple and traditional woman. Naturally, she hates him for his advances. Satyaraj backs off when he learns that she is his best friend Ranjith's girlfriend. Ranjith and Devayani decide to marry but Ranjith disappears without a trace on the day of his marriage and she is left stranded. Satyaraj provides her accommodation in his house which she unwillingly accepts. But her opinion of him gradually undergoes a change. Ranjith on his return has different plans. The rest of the story line deals with what is in store for Devayani.
