There has recently been a spate of very violent farm attacks in South Africa. The DA will not and cannot stay quiet on this matter, we will continue to raise it until something is done about it.
Last year we launched a comprehensive rural safety plan that would change the way in which rural policing is done to dramatically improve security in the most vulnerable areas, but to date we have had no response from the Minister.
Our Safety and Security cluster in our Parliamentary Caucus will call for Minister Bheki Cele to appear before the Committee to account for what has happened and set forward a clear plan on what he and the South African Police Service intend to do to keep citizens of this country safe from the crime and criminality that is praying on vulnerable citizens every day.
It is time now for ACTION.
