The Southdowns runs for absolutely miles. I've been putting it off for so long now. I'll be truthful, I didn't think I'd enjoy it. How wrong could I be. Meeting with my usual group of top riders for our weekly ride, we headed out for a 20 ish mile loop.
The weather was literally perfect. Hot, but a nice breeze that after 15 miles was needed. The Southdowns have amazing views. It actually made a change to take it all in for once rather than blasting down the trails and not noticing much.
Andy was the tour guide for the loop and did a really good job of taking us around the better sections for this loop.
It's opened up a new avenue of riding for me. You couldn't do this on anything other than a mountain bike, and have the ability to just go where ever the pedals take you in pretty amazing for sure.
The Southdowns extends for absolutely miles and miles. The limit to any journey is time and fitness. You'll get some great fast paced descents, but shortly followed by some big up hill elements. It's like this for most loops of the Southdowns area.
Regardless to say, it was an amazing ride with great company and I felt it the next day..
