Course Title: Linear Control Systems

This lecture describes the mathematical modeling of mechanical systems with gears. Gears in mechanical systems are analogous to transformers in electrical circuits, therefore, the approach to model mechanical systems with gears is the same the approach to model electrical systems with transformers. That is, all impedances in the system are referred to either the input shaft or the output shaft of the gear system and then torque balance equations can be easily written. The concept is demonstrated with the help of examples. Most of the contents for todays lecture are from the book by N. Nise.
