This animation is derived of photos taken across three major construction areas as part of recent work done as part of the Loop Track Renewal Project (by CTA) and the Wells St. Bridge Reconstruction (by CDOT) on the last evening of work, just before sundown.

In the Loop Track Renewal Project, major parts of tracks were rebuilt at Tower 18 (Lake/Wells Junction) and the Hubbard St. Curve (an S-curve just north of the Merchandise Mart station).

With the Wells St. Bridge Reconstruction, the bridge was completely closed for two nine day periods so large sections of the bridge could be disconnected and new sections put in place. It required closure of this key entry path to the Loop 'L' from North Side lines, and the tracks atop the bridge were completely rebuilt when each half was closed.
