Velodus reviews Jodorowsky's Dune (2013) in this edition of 𝗔 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 - a documentary by Frank Pavich about Alejandro Jodorowsky's unrealized attempt to make a film version of Dune in the 1970's - a film that would have featured Orson Welles, Mick Jagger, Pink Floyd, the artistic visionaries behind Alien, and even (at one point anyway) Salvador Dali. Is Jodorowsky's Dune a must-see classic about one of the craziest movies ever conceived, or does it deserve to be as discarded as the burning giraffe that was going to be in the film? Well, let's discuss...
Note(s):
*Here's the interview mentioned in the video, in which the director of this documentary mentions the scene involving 2,000 defecating extras. I wish the interviewer would have asked a follow-up question or two or twenty about this, not the least of which about why they didn't think this information was worth being mentioned in the film, but c'est la vie.
