This crispy chicken baguette was devoured!🤤
This crispy chicken baguette with caramelised onions went down a treat! My husband said it’s the best sandwich he’s ever had!
Ingredients (makes 1 sandwich)
1 baguette, cut in half and toasted
3 Chicken breasts, marinated with minced garlic, paprika, mixed herbs, 1 tbsp lemon juice, salt and pepper
1 egg with few splashes of milk for coating chicken
Plain flour for coating chicken - seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, mixed herbs
Panko breadcrumbs
Mixed spinach salad
Tomatoes
Caramelised onions
Jalepenos
Cheese slices
Sauce (measurements according to desired heat level):-
Mayo
Extra hot chilli sauce
Sweet chilli sauce
Red buldak sauce
Method
- Caramelise 2 medium-large onions in butter (add a little salt, pepper and sugar).
- Marinate chicken and coat in egg, flour, egg again and then the panko breadcrumbs.
- Mix together all of the ingredients for the sauce and cut and toast the baguette.
- Fry the chicken in neutral cooking oil for around 3 minutes on each side, or until cooked.
- To assemble, top toasted baguette with the sauce, followed by the crispy chicken, then cheese slices and onions - toast this a little so that the cheese melts.
- Next, add the salad items.
- Cut in half and enjoy!
