Holy hell that was a bad painting day! I'm happy I was able to eek out a few Sheleeart blooms! In this video I demonstrate how you can create a focal point for your art, even when there might not be a clear focal point in your painting. This is a bit of a labor of love (hint, get your painter's tape ready!) but the end results are worth it! News: keep your eye out for the next video--I'm creating a Patreon account and you can sign up for exclusive videos, lessons, learn how to create custom colors, learn how to create mixed media pieces, resin tips, and more! I'm very excited to create a Patreon community and get to know my audience! Let me know what you think of this triptych in the comments section! xoxo Karen
P.S. Still loving the Boom Gel Stain--see discount below if you'd like to try it!! Also, free shipping for frames--see below!

Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe:
House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate:
PPG Multi-Pro White & Pastel Base in Eggshell--pour straight out of the can
Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe—mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:
Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); Minwax Polyacrylic Gloss 2:1 ratio paint to varnish. Mix well.
Brands/Colors mixed:
Golden Fluid Acrylics in Alizarin Crimson Hue, Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold; TLP pigments (This Little Piggy) in Sangria and Ore. Boom Gel Stain in Iridescent Sunset.
Golden Fluid Acrylics-- I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well.
For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick then I'll add a teaspoon of varnish/water to thin. (I make a bottle of "Jo-Wa" by adding 1/3 JoSonja Gloss Varnish and the rest water, and keep it in a squeeze bottle and use as my "water.")
All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.
Cell Activator Colors:
Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Permanent Blue Violet. 3.5:1 ratio Floetrol to paint.
