A woman is dead, and her partner and her two young children - ages one and five - are in the hospital after someone shot at their car in southeast Portland on Sunday night, police officials say.
Reports came in at about 10:40 p.m. Sunday for gunfire and a crash in the 12800 block of Southeast Foster Road.
Officers arrived to find that four people inside of a car had been shot.
A woman inside the car had died, and a man and two young children were taken to the hospital.
The man is in critical condition but is expected to survive.
The one-year-old was shot in the leg and the five-year-old was shot in the arm; both are in stable condition.
Police confirmed Monday that the woman was in a relationship with the man, and that she was the mother of the children.
Police closed Southeast Foster Road between 122nd and 138th avenues for an investigation.
