Stunning viewpoints, dry lake beds, slot canyons and metal art sculptures, there are so many things to do in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the largest state park in California.

Joshua Tree National Park. Mount San Jacinto. Anza-Borrego State Park. The Salton Sea. Up aerial tramways, past ocotillo and cacti, through boulders and tiny slot canyons, on gorgeous hikes up mountain peaks or through desert to palm oases or to stunning viewpoints of badlands and preserves, on treks to discover metal animal sculptures and wildly eccentric beach art or to check out dry lake beds, old abandoned mills and sites of religious tribute, and even eat some great sandwiches along the way, this road trip in and around the Palm Springs area of Southern California was pretty unforgettable.
