Howdy ya’ll.
Lately I’ve been researching mysterious land formations and the fortifications built on top of them, specifically those fortifications situated nearby historically significant bodies of water.
One location that kept popping up in my research was The Rock of Gibraltar. In today’s video we’re going to take a deep dive into the history of the Rock of Gibraltar while comparing modern photographs to pre-1945 photographs and artistic depictions from before photography.
The Rock of Gibraltar was the location of one of the Ancient Pillars of Hercules; Hercules himself said to be attributed to the Ancient Phoenicians. We will briefly discuss the implications of that, then we will focus on the Moorish Castle of Gibraltar.
This all-encompassing castle once reigned supreme over The Rock of Gibraltar, and the foundations can still be seen throughout the Rock. Within the Moorish Castle, some would say beneath, have been built a vast array of tunnels. These tunnels, which predate the Moorish Castle, have been advanced, repeatedly, over the years by the armies said to occupy this defensive Rock Structure.
We will take a look inside the parts of the Rock of Gibraltar and the mysterious tunnels that are open to the public. I really enjoyed making this video, and I hope you enjoy it too! I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments down below, and please consider contributing to the channel if you can. Like, subscribe, and join me for more old world content in the near future. Enjoy!
