WAKATOBI stands for the four main Tukangbesi Islands: Wangi-wangi, Kaledupa, Tomia, and Binongko just south of Sulawesi, Indonesia. Though Tomia is the most famous of them all, due to Tomia Resort, I feel that the dive sites there aren't as nice as at Hoga Island where the entire area is a reserve. There is even a university from the UK there for marine biologists!
We (home) stayed at Kaledupa, dived at Hoga and made a special treacherous trip to Tomia where being with a school of barracudas was pretty much the highlight of the trip. Oh, we saw few dolphins swimming by our boat too!
Over all, it was a good week of diving and living among the locals.
