► About Today's Location
Adelaide is the capital city of the state of South Australia, Australia. Founded in 1836 by British free settlers. Adelaide has a population of 1.3 million as of 2021.
Adelaide is South Australia’s cosmopolitan coastal capital. Its ring of parkland on the River Torrens is home to renowned museums such as the Art Gallery of South Australia, displaying expansive collections including noted Indigenous art, and the South Australian Museum, devoted to natural history. The city's Adelaide Festival is an annual international arts gathering with spin-offs including fringe and film events. ― Google
We start at the Hospital tram stop on North Terrace between the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Newmarket Hotel. We head south along West Terrace to Hindley Street and make our way to the Morphett Street bridge and cross over the River Torrens and past the Memorial Drive tennis courts and Adelaide Oval to take in the views of the city from North Adelaide. We then cross the River Torrens footbridge and head past the SkyCity Casino and Adelaide Railway Station to North Terrace. We then head east along North Terrace and cross King William Street to conclude the walking tour.
