A classic battery problem with the iPhone is that it will drain to only 50 or 60% and then suddenly turn off and tell you the phone needs to be recharged.
I try removing the battery and draining it down using a fan load and then ceramic resistors. I then try charge and discharge the battery inside an iPhone 6 to see if it resolves the issues.
I'm not sure if the battery was damaged by the sudden cold temperatures or from a big drop.
The cost of a generic iPhone 6 replacement battery isn't too high but it would still be better if you could simply fix the existing battery instead of buying a new one.
This will be the second time I replace the battery and I was just curious to see if externally charging or externally discharging the battery and then putting it back into the iPhone would make any difference.
