Today we'll be having a drive on my favourite German route in TS. This is the Frankfurt U-Bahn, which is a large route centred around the underground / stadtbahn / metro network in the city of Frankfurt am Main.

The U-Bahn has nine lines (U1 to U9), and the one we're on for this video is U7. When this route was released, the real U7 line ran from Enkheim to Hausen (that's east to west). But in late 2018, it swapped its western terminus with line U6, which used to terminate at Praunheim Heerstraße. Now U7 goes to Praunheim and U6 goes to Hausen. U6's eastern terminus is Frankfurt Ostbahnhof.

As previously stated, we'll be driving on the original U7 service from Enkheim to Hausen (a distance of 11.79 kilometres). The traction for this run is the Flexity Swift U5-25, running in a 6-car consist (that's three 2-car units coupled together). On our way to Hausen we'll be stopping at the following stations:

Line U7 is mostly underground, with the section between Eissporthalle/Festplatz and Kirchplatz running below the surface. The rest of the line is above ground, and U7 shares parts of its route with two other U-Bahn lines; U4 and U6. The section shared by U6 and U7 (Zoo to Industriehof) also runs alongside the S-Bahn lines in the Frankfurt City Tunnel.
