(October 2023) Group tour via bus from Tokyo to Mount Fuji that includes a visit to Hakone and Lake Ashi. This was a quick stop so I focused on images of the snowcapped Fuji-san and the nearby shrine.
There are lots of visitors on the grounds and many of the elevated areas can get congested - imagine going to the Diamond Head hike to the top of the viewing spots. Some people like to enjoy the view and catch their breath! I was stoked to see the full outline of Mount Fuji AND snow?! We were very lucky this morning!
Also, there are other views of the nearby towns in the valley behind the shrine and gift shop areas. Something I learned on this trip is to do a bit of research on the local points of interest and do your best to plan a route of attack, so to speak. For me, seeing Mount Fuji then being on the slopes of the mountain itself was it. All else was gravy :)
