What is the flexible finishing sheet? The flexible finishing sheet is 18”x 22” of soft heat-resistant rubber that you can lay on the item you are heat pressing to protect the item from the scorch that a heat press can bring on your material being pressed. If your material (sub straight) can take the heat but is subject to being sensitive to the harsh metal heating element, then simply lay the flexible finishing sheet between the top heat platen and your item.
And just like that, you're protected!
This item is not intended for temperatures over 400 degrees. This flexible finishing sheet also helps bring the heat down into dips in the material. For example, if you are pressing a Digital HeatFX transfer along the edge or a zipper or seam, the rubber is softer and more spongy that the hard heat press platen and can help extend the heat on items that are not perfectly flat. The flexible finishing sheet is suggested for items like rain gear, neoprene, thin athletic wear, sports balls, and any other media that can use a buffer between the direct heat and your item.
Remember to add extra time to help make sure your decorated apparel or specialty item reaches the required heat for the item to apply correctly.
