Three button flight ID change! This is useful if you alternate between your tail number and some other flight ID (i.e., NGFxxxx for Angel Flight, or ARFxxx for Animal Rescue Flights). I use an Angel Flight example below and in the video.
First, your installer needs to enable the ability for you to Edit your Flight ID. In addition, the GTX 345's installer menu, ADSB chapter, final page, has instructions about setting a DEFAULT FLT ID and FLIGHT ID PREFIX. The DEFAULT FLT ID should be set to your TAIL number; the second field, FLT ID PREFIX, should be set to "NGFxxxx" (your full Angel Flight number/id). That'll make switching Flight IDs from the main screen a two button push process, selecting one or the other.
How to switch codes:
If you're seeing your TAIL number, press CRSR, ENTER, ENTER to swap to your ANGEL FLIGHT ID.
If you're seeing your ANGEL FLIGHT ID, press CRSR, down (9 ▼) , ENTER to swap back to your TAIL NUMBER.
You can always cursor back and change the flight ID to something else entirely, with more key presses, before pressing the final ENTER key, if you need to use a less-frequently-used Flight ID.
NOTE: It’s a REQUIREMENT for ADSB-OUT that you broadcast the same Flight ID as what is filed on your flight plan:
