Conference Theme: ERAS - Early Recovery After Surgery
The Indian Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN) is an organization in the field of parenteral and enteral nutrition and promotes basic research, clinical research, advanced education, organization of consensus statements about clinical care and quality control.
The National Conference on Surgical Nutrition is hosted and organized by IAPEN - Kolkata Regional Center on 19 December 2013 at Sanaskrity Conference Hall, GT Road, Bardhaman, West Bengal, India. Conference theme is "Early Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) - Challenges and Solutions".
Surgical Nutrition is a multidisciplinary specialty that offers coordinated care, both in hospital and at home, for adults with complex nutritional problems, including the management of home parenteral (intravenous TPN) and enteral (tube feeding) nutrition. Services provided by the Surgery team include comprehensive nutritional assessment, individualized dietary instruction, as well as prescription management and monitoring of complex home-based nutritional therapies. This third conference of IAPEN will provide such a forum for multidisciplinary interaction on surgical nutrition.
There will be Advanced Training Workshop on "Clinical Nutrition for Surgical Patients" based on The Life Long Learning Initiative of IAPEN. The conference plenary talks include Surgical Diet, Specialized Nutrition Support for Surgical Patients, Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. Cardiothoracic nutrition, Surgical Nutrition for General Gastrointestinal and Vascular Surgery Patients, Case Studies etc.
