our child's tantrum does not define you as a parent
Raise your hand if your child has had a meltdown in public🙋🏽♀️!
Every child will have a vulnerable moment in a public setting at some point:
➡️ They're children, they're human, and they're learning about their emotions while navigating new experiences. How can we teach them about navigating new experiences if we never take them in the first place?
➡️ You can't control every single feeling your child has at every moment
Public tantrums can feel embarrassing. Why? Because some people are REALLLLYYY not that understanding of how normal they actually are.
And oh..those judgey eyes! 👀
I've been there.
However, I want to normalize public tantrums. Especially because I know you're doing the work to help them through their feelings and big emotions. Whether they are at home or in public.
The hardest one for me was on vacation in a small cafe. I was alone with Ryaan, the line to get food was long, Ryaan was hangry, and his screams were shrill. 🔊
Public tantrums will happen and on my blog: "Handling public tantrums" I guide you through this very normal phase all children go through.
✔️How to prepare.
✔️How to normalize them when they happen.
✔️How to navigate them IN that moment.
And also, if you're reading this and don't have a child--please don't give us your judgey eyes during their meltdown.
We got this and we can all use more compassion during our children's vulnerable moments. 💪🏽
